The 73rd Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) of the IIT Roorkee Alumni Association took place on November 24, 2023. The event marked a momentous occasion as it was convened in the presence of Golden Jubilee Reunion Alums from the 1973 batch and the 1974 (B. Arch batch). Er. Dinesh Singh Pawar, the Honorary Secretary of the Alumni Association, conducted the meeting, emphasizing the association’s dedicated efforts toward the improvement of both its alumni and the alma mater, IIT Roorkee.
Lt. Gen. Vishwambhar Singh (Retd.), the President of IITRAA, graced the gathering with his presence, specially traveling from Jaipur to attend. Expressing gratitude to the Golden Jubilee alums for their participation, he acknowledged both the physical attendees and those tuning in via the live YouTube broadcast. Lt. Gen. Singh emphasized on the importance of strengthening the relationship between IIT Roorkee and IITRAA, shedding light on the proactive initiatives of the various alumni association chapters actively working towards enhancement.
Nikhil Pant, the Treasurer of the Alumni Association, took the opportunity to enlighten fellow alumni about the financial workings of the association. He passionately urged everyone to contribute towards the betterment of both the association and the cherished alma mater, IIT Roorkee. The meeting also featured the felicitation of the distinguished Golden Jubilee alumni, recognizing their significant contributions.
Er. Dinesh Singh Pawar shared a noteworthy update during the proceedings, informing attendees about a generous donation of 5,000,000 INR from the Alumni Association to IIT Roorkee in October 2023. This substantial contribution stands as a testament to the commitment of the alumni association to support and elevate the esteemed Alma Mater.
